Sam - 2 1/2 Years ( Old Age )
Ben - 2 Years ( Poorly Had To Be Put Down )
Aston - 3 Years ( Old Age ( Died A Few Days Ago ) )

How horrible.

Ebony is 2 and has at least six tumors. We don't expect her to make it through the week.
My other two I rescued and have no idea how old they are. They were not yet full grown when I got them, but definitly out of baby stage.

For many reasons. One, they are obviously cancerous because they spread within days, two, my parents are anything but animal lovers. They think spending as much time and money with my rats is stupid. Though won't let me have them operated on, and three, I would need my parent to help pay for the operation. If I personally had enough money I would simply go behind their backs. But the vet quoted at least $250 for the operation I simply can't afford that.

Ohh Im so sorry my mum and dad are half animal lovers and half not though they still payed for the operation for me why dont you talk about it ? also is she in pain because if she is wouldnt it be nicer if you had her put to sleep ( gased not injected ) .

Trust me, we've talked about it. My parents simply don't think animals are worth it. They think that a $4 rat is not worth a $250 operation. Luckily I move out in 2 years so I can finally do what I want.
Happily, Ebony does not seem to be in pain. She still climbs around her cage, eats as much as she can get her grubby hands on and still try to escape and run around as much as possible. But she has been declining and I do think we will have to put her down this week. I told my mother that the only was I would be able to handle putting her down is if she let me get baby rats. I don't think I could stand to see Ebony's cage empty.
However, I kind of doubt my mother letting me get baby rats. Ah, well, I can always dream...

Im glad that she is in no pain how many rats have you got now ? i am looking after 2 my friends rats , while shes on holiday and after the summer holidays if mom and dad let me im hopefully gonna get 2 - 5 rats in my jenny rat cage .

Just three. In total I have had six (all girls), but have had to put three down. I definitly have room for more in my new cage, but convincing my parents to let me having any more will be the challenge.
